The Society of Animal Artists opened its 50th Annual Exhibition of Art at the Animal at the San Diego Natural History Museum in 2010, in which John Banovich displayed "Edge of the Marsh." Art and the Animal Kingdom is the flagship exhibition of the Society of Animal Artists. The name refers to both the annual exhibition of the Society of Animal Artists, and the traveling exhibition and tour that it generates. The annual exhibition has been displayed at prestigious venues east to west and north to south for the pasty fifty years.
