During the breeding season, the dominant bull or “Master of The Herd,” actively maintains his harem of mature cows from the advances of opportunistic rival bulls. His large stature and relentless instincts to protect ensure the strength of his lineage for many bountiful years to come. This is the latest painting in my bison in the snow series and it unveils what it would feel like to standoff against the “Master of The Herd.” John Banovich - Artist/ Conversationist
