Award winning artist John Banovich is a long time donor and supporter of Houston Safari Club, and has collaborated with HSC on the conservation of the African Lion through the Banovich Wildscapes Foundation Lion PRIDE Initiative. Best known for painting bold and dramatic scenes of iconic wildlife and nature in its most essential form, Banovich has achieved extraordinary popularity among art collectors and sportsmen across the globe. Equally as important as his paintings, Banovich’s sketches provide a glimpse into the foundation of his work and the process of an artist who knows his subject intimately from years of firsthand study and research. The artist has spent a significant amount of time with elephants on over 38 safaris) and has used his own conservation work through the Banovich Wildscapes Foundation as well as his breathtaking visual narratives to create awareness to the plight of this important species. This years Banovich has created prisma sketch on cold pressed illustration board featuring a Large Elephant Bull sporting well over 100 lb tusks. This bull has seen the best and worst Africa has to offer, and has lived long enough to tell its story.
